How to Choose the Best Reiki Certification Course

Public interest in Reiki is rapidly increasing, but you should know that there are no standards for Reiki education. If you are thinking of learning Reiki, it can prove to be one of the best decisions of your life. Maybe you are a hypnotist or a life coach and are looking for better ways to serve your clients. Or perhaps you just really want to learn how to heal yourself or someone you love. There are several kinds of Reiki courses available which can make you feel overwhelmed. So if you are not sure which Reiki training you should take and how it works, this blog can help you.

What is Reiki?

It is an energy healing method that dates back to the 1920s in Japan. Mikao Usui discovered the Reiki and taught it to over 2000 students before passing away. Now, this has transformed into modern Reiki practice and is being practiced all over the world.

Reiki allows the practitioner to target energy fields throughout the body. This involves the practitioner firmly placing their hands on a part of the client’s body for 2-5 minutes.

Choose the best Reiki training and Reiki certification

Just like learning other alternative therapeutic modalities such as Emotional Freedom Techniques, Reiki certification courses aren’t regulated. Nonetheless, there is a drive to become a licensed and regulated professional and that’s why some companies offer licenses and certifications on their own.

Most Reiki training programs offer beginner, intermediate, and advanced level Reiki courses.

Reiki level 1

It is also known as first degree or Shoden and it is available to anyone. Most of the time, self-Reiki focuses on this level. You learn how to connect with the energy channels and how to implement this practice in the right way.

Reiki level 2

Reiki level 2 is also known as the second degree or Okuden. It dives deeper into the concept of Reiki and helps you learn how you can practice it on others. At this level, you start receiving symbols to work with the clients on distance healing and send Reiki energy to the past, present, as well as future situations.

Reiki level 3

It is also called third degree or Shinpiden. It often involves becoming a Reiki master so that you can teach others about the practice of Reiki. Reiki level 3 is sometimes divided into two levels- level 3 Shinpiden and Reiki Master Level. Because many people aren’t yet comfortable attuning others to the practice of Reiki.

Online or in-person Reiki certification course

How you intend to practice Reiki can influence your choice. If you want to help your clients online then online learning can be the best for you. Some practitioners believe that Reiki should be performed in person only. However, it is a debatable topic. When you opt for online training, you get more options in terms of choosing your Reiki master.

You can also go with a combination of online and in-person classes. For example, you can start with an in-person class and then move to the online one. Another crucial thing to note here is that you will want to determine whether the online course you opt for is live or pre-recorded.
