Many people are not aware that Reiki, a traditional energy healing treatment, can be conducted remotely by a trained practitioner. It means distant Reiki can be as effective as experiencing one in person. Having a remote Reiki session in the comfort of your own home can often be more relaxing than going to the practitioner’s place.

The Remote Reiki session usually lasts 30 minutes, but it can be extended if you want. All you have to do is schedule a time and date with your practitioner. By setting up a particular time, you can be in a receptive state.

The practitioner may ask for your photo, along with your name, location, and the intention of the therapy. These details will help the healer connect with you if you haven’t had a meeting before.  

If you’re considering having a distance Reiki session, here are a few steps to follow to get the most from your treatment.

  1. Preparing for Your Session

Take your Reiki therapy as a meditation or a yoga practice. If you like baths, you should enjoy a nice warm one before you lie down for your session. It will get you into a pleasingly receptive state. When at home during the session, sit in your preferred meditation spot, or lie on your bed if you feel like resting. Make the surrounding space comfortable, and use your essential oils, crystals, or incense to create the perfect atmosphere.

Sit or lie comfortably, and ensure the setting isn’t too cold or hot. For the perfect environment for a distant Reiki session, wear loose, nonrestrictive clothing and switch off your phones and computer. Remember, you don’t want any distraction during this period.

Close your eyes and take slow, deep breaths to be in a relaxed state. By performing meditation, your chatting mind would stop. Focus on the sounds around you if unnecessary thoughts or questions pop into your head – it will help let them go. If you feel you can’t focus properly, return to following your breath in and out.

To receive the healing energy sent your way, you need to state your intention. If you’re new to Reiki, start your session with an open mind. If you have too many questions in your mind, you’re not in the best frame of mind to relax and enjoy the experience Reiki session has to offer.

Reiki energy is positive and can never harm. The energy you receive doesn’t come from the practitioner but through them, originating from the source. Reiki has its intelligence and will work for your good, no matter what your physical condition is during the session.

After your session is over, take deep, slow breaths to indicate your body to change gears. It is also a good idea to drink a glass of water as there would be energy movement. Take notes of thoughts that popped up during your meditation state.

Remote Reiki session is an excellent way to experience energized and balanced mind, body, and spirit. It is not necessary that you need to be ill, sad, depressed, or feel “lost” to benefit from Reiki therapy.
